Taste Testing the Yorkshire Beef Burrito at The Wrekin Giant

Yorkshire meets Mexico…

I was really excited to finally try the Yorkshire Beef Burrito.

It’s been around for a while now, but I had always put off trying it until now. While I was in Telford visiting my local Hungry Horse chain – The Wrekin Giant I noticed it on the menu in their 2 for £9.99 deals, so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

When the dish came out it looked great. The Yorkshire pudding looked huge and tasty. I was really looking forward to tucking in.

What’s included

The dish was completed with some chunky chips, a mini gravy boat with beef gravy and horseradish sauce. It seemed a bargain at around £5.49.

At first the Yorkshire pudding seemed a little tough and chewy but after a few mouthfuls I must admit it was pretty disappointing, the beef was chewy and tasted quite dreadful. I actually couldn’t eat half of it as is had enough of the weird tasting beef. I hope they don’t serve this cheap spongy beef on their Sunday dinners. I suppose I get what I pay for as the meal was only a fiver when it comes down to it. I’m just glad I had an ice cold Coors Light to wash away that cheap beef taste.

Very disappointed with this meal. I go to this restaurant a lot and this is the first time it has let me down and it’s the time I was tasked with reviewing it.
